2011 Megan Ashley Perry Memorial Scholarship
To honor Megan's commitment to education and improving the lives of others, the Megan Ashley Perry Foundation is proud to honor and commemorate Megan's life with the 2011 Megan Ashley Perry Memorial Scholarship. The Megan Ashley Perry Foundation hopes to support young people with a similar passion to help others make good choices.
Two (2) High School scholarship recipients will each receive a $4,000 award ($1,000 per year). All scholarship recipients will be recognized at The Megan Ashley Perry Foundation's 3rd Annual Beef & Root Beer event in February 2012.
Who Can Apply?
Applicants must satisfy all of the following criteria to be eligible:
- Graduating high school seniors who have been admitted to an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution and intend to pursue a major in Education, Social Services, Social Sciences, Communications, or related fields;
- U.S. Citizens; U.S. Nationals; U.S. Permanent Residents; Temporary Residents (in a legalization program); Refugees; Asylees; Cuban-Haitian Entrants; or Humanitarian Parolees;
- Anticipating completion of high school diploma at the time of application;
- Carrying a minimum cumulative 3.00 GPA at the time of application;
- Applicants cannot be a relative of any members of the Board of Directors.
Application Process:
- Completed Application Form
- Demonstrated commitment to community service, including a list of all service-related activities and the approximate number of hours served;
- Essay(s) as listed on the Scholarship Applications;
- Demonstration of financial need through personal statement
- Official transcript;
- Two Letters of Recommendation (1 Academic, 1 Community);
Deadline for submission is May 13, 2011. All application packages must be complete and postmarked by this date. Incomplete applications or applications received after this date will not be considered.
Decisions about scholarship awards will be made on or before June 1, 2011.
